The Centro Espírita Nosso Lar was born on January 28, 1949, at Rua Ezequiel Freire, 732, Santana. It is the house where the visionary of this work, João Castardelli, lived. At the age of 12, he was already writing spiritualist texts for the Esoteric Circle of the Communion of Thought. He passed away young, a victim of a serious illness that at 18 years old did not allow him to leave home. Thus, the family intensified their studies of Spiritist Doctrine, and João began to lead the work and meetings in his home. Even after his passing, the meetings continued, and with each encounter the number of attendees grew, which led Paulo Castaldelli to formalize the meetings, founding the Center. João's dream was coming true. On the day of the inauguration ceremony, the first statute of the Institution was created, whose purpose is to promote spiritual and material charity, without any distinction of religious belief, nationality, color, sex, or age group. Remembering João's guidance, the Center's work was intensified in caring for orphaned children. A spiritual message changed the course of the work, emphasizing that it should care for children with physical and mental disabilities. The Institution's guidelines are the result of the study and practice of the Spiritist Doctrine.
