The Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC) is a French public administrative establishment, with legal personality and financial autonomy, created by the law of October 25, 1946. It is under the authority of the ministry responsible for Culture. Since 2009, six main missions have been assigned to it: Support the economy of cinema, audiovisual and multimedia; Regulate and control the sector; Promote and disseminate works to a wide audience; Ensure cooperation between local authorities and the State; Negotiate the implementation of multilateral policy, whether European or international; Protect the cinematographic heritage.
