Covering a large health territory, the Centre Hospitalier de Libourne (CHL) offers access to almost all existing medical specialties, with the exception of specialties concentrated at the Bordeaux University Hospital (mainly neurosurgery and cardiac surgery). Its hospitalization and accommodation capacities make it the 2nd largest establishment in the former Aquitaine region, along with the Côte Basque Hospital Center, behind the Bordeaux University Hospital. The Libourne Hospital Center thus includes: 590 short-stay beds and places for Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics (MCO); 120 beds and places for Rehabilitation Care (SSR); 230 beds and places for psychiatry; 340 beds in Accommodation Facilities for Dependent Elderly People (EHPAD). Its activity is spread across 3 sites in Libourne (Fondation Sabatié, Hôpital Robert Boulin, and Hôpital Garderose) and out-of-hospital psychiatry facilities in North Gironde (Blaye/Libourne/Ste-Foy). The establishment's practitioners benefit from a modern technical platform consisting of an installed MRI (to which a second recently authorized by the ARS will be added), two scanners, two particle accelerators, a coronary angiography room, and 11 operating rooms.
