Dairen Chemical Corporation (DCC) is a joint venture between Chang Chun Group (Chang Chun Petrochemical and Chang Chun Plastics) and Nan Pao Resins, established in 1979. The primary role of DCC is to manufacture and supply VAM, a key raw material for PVA and PVAc production, to its parent companies. The initial VAM plant, with an annual capacity of 85,000 MTY, utilized technology licensed from Bayer AG (Germany). DCC has consistently focused on research and development since its inception. The company has successfully developed downstream products related to VAM, including EA, EVA Emulsion, VAE Re-dispersible Powder, Pyridine, and a highly efficient catalyst for VAM production. In 1998, DCC transferred its self-developed Pyridine synthesis technology on a turn-key basis to CCP (Miao-Li Factory). DCC also made the strategic decision to develop a process for synthesizing 1,4-BDO with a capacity of 30,000 MTY at its Ta-Fa Factory to supply CCP (Kaohsiung Factory) for PBT production. Building upon the successful operation of the 1,4-BDO plant, the first 10,000 MTY PTG plant was constructed in 1999, with technical collaboration from Hodogaya Chemical (Japan). By 2005, DCC achieved an annual revenue of NT$ 14.4 billion. The company operates three factories in Taiwan (Kaohsiung Ta-She, Kaohsiung Ta-fa, and Yuanlin Mai-liao), one in Malaysia (Johor), and one in China (Yizheng, Jiangsu). Through twenty years of sustained effort and a strong emphasis on R&D and quality enhancement, DCC has earned a global reputation among its customers. This value, combined with its globalization and e-enterprise strategy, positions DCC to deliver even higher quality products and timely services worldwide in the future.
