The world's leading retail chain, Carrefour Group, brought the hypermarket concept to Turkey by opening its first store in Istanbul İçerenköy in 1993. In 1996, following a partnership between Carrefour Group and Sabancı Holding, one of Turkey's largest conglomerates, it was rebranded as CarrefourSA, opening its first CarrefourSA store in Adana in 1997. After the management transitioned to Sabancı Holding in 2013, significant investments were made in areas such as human resources, technological infrastructure, and store concepts, driven by new strategies, thereby maintaining its claim to be the sector's leading retailer. As a first in the sector, it continues to grow in line with its "New Generation Market" vision through its "Lezzet Arası" restaurants, launched in 2017 to provide customers with a gastronomic experience within the store, and its "Franchise" system, initiated in 2020 to support local tradesmen and entrepreneurs under the CarrefourSA umbrella. Today, CarrefourSA employs over 11,000 people, operates more than 900 stores across "Hyper, Super, Gourmet, Mini" concepts, and its Online Market at www.carrefoursa.com serves over 164 million customers annually with 50,000 product varieties, meeting their needs and expectations with the principle of "The Right Way is at CarrefourSA" – offering the right quality at the right price.
