Welcome to Cape Resorts, a dynamic family of hotels, restaurants, and retail outlets based in Cape May, New Jersey, and Long Island, New York. Founded by Curtis Bashaw in 1989, Cape Resorts has built a pristine reputation as a leading luxury hospitality provider. Under Mr. Bashaw’s leadership, the company has experienced astounding and consistent growth, expanding from two hotels in 2002 to a flourishing modern-day tally of six luxury resorts, four full-service restaurants, two spas, a fully-functioning 62-acre farm, as well as a number of shops, cafés, lounges, and services. More than 30 years ago, we had a vision — that people wanted a place that gave them the authentic charm of a bygone era with all the comforts and amenities of today; classic beachside ambiance with room service, air-conditioning and comfortable beds. In 1986 we bought the 24-room Virginia hotel in Cape May and made our vision reality. Our success at The Virginia allowed us to buy the iconic Congress Hall and restore it to its original grandeur. New projects in Cape May soon followed, including the restoration of The Star, Beach Shack, the Sandpiper Beach Club, the Congress Place Suites and the Beach Plum Farm Cottages. In 2015, after a two-year, top-to-bottom renovation, we opened Baron’s Cove in Sag Harbor. Most recently, in 2021, Cape Resorts welcomed the Pridwin Hotel & Cottages to its portfolio. Cape Resorts has established a strong brand positioning as an owner and operator of classic American resort properties, delivering authentic charm and a full array of amenities with excellent service in beautiful, often historic facilities. Each property offers a unique lodging experience supplemented by dynamic restaurants, bars, lounges, successful retail, wellness outlets and family friendly activities and programming.
