The São Geraldo brand is a reference to the Italian saint São Geraldo, and it emerged in the 1930s with Mr. José Geraldo da Cruz, who owned a small alcoholic beverage factory that produced fruit-based compound wines, such as: cashew, jurubeba, and jenipapo. In the early 1940s, the factory was sold to Mr. Luciano Teófilo de Melo, with its activities continued and implemented with new products: Vinegar, Cognac, and Mint-based Brandy. In 1946, José Amâncio de Sousa, still young, began to join Mr. Luciano Teófilo's staff and just two years later, in 1948, became the owner of this venture, under the company name José Amâncio de Souza. The 1950s were marked by the acquisition of the first (all manual) machinery, the joining of siblings Francisco de Sousa and Tarcila de Sousa, and the beginning of the production of the first soft drink – O Guaraná Brasil – a guarana-based soft drink that was produced until the 1970s. With the arrival of electricity in the region in 1962, new semi-automatic equipment was acquired, giving a new boost to production. In the same year, Cajuína São Geraldo was launched, which later, with the regulation of Brazilian beverage legislation, was classified as a Cashew Soft Drink. In 1976, the company name Cajuína São Geraldo Ltda. was created. Major investments were made in acquiring high-capacity production equipment, generating greater market share and opening new opportunities, such as the partnership with Cadbury, a multinational company, which, under a franchise model, allowed us to bottle the Crush brand soft drink for 12 years. This led us to a quality process of international standards. In addition to the most famous cashew soft drink in Brazil, São Geraldo offers Uva, Gostin de Guaraná, and Água Mineral São Geraldo soft drinks within its product mix.
