Cafento is a family company formed by the integration of a large group of companies with decades of experience in the coffee sector. A global company with a local focus, based on customer proximity through each of our local tradition brands. This, combined with a strong infrastructure, positions us as one of the major European companies in the sector. We currently have a team of over 400 professionals and our intention is to continue our expansion, both nationally and internationally. Our production capacity amounts to 21 million kilos annually, and we have an extensive distribution network throughout Spain, strengthening our presence in France and Central Europe. THE ORIGINS Cafento's story begins in the 1930s, when Manuel Rodríguez (from Galicia) and Pilar Menéndez (from Asturias) had their first child, Juan Carlos, in Buenos Aires and returned to Spain to introduce him to their families. During their visit to Asturias, the Civil War broke out, making it impossible for them to return to Argentina. Under these circumstances, they decided to found a colonial goods store in Tineo. This store was known as "El Gallego"'s and its coffee also acquired that nickname, the coffee of "El Gallego"​. In the 1950s, Juan Carlos separated the store's activity from his parents' and established the coffee roasting and commercialization business. Currently, the company is being managed by the third family generation.
