The Federal Association of Women's Counseling Centers and Women's Hotlines (bff) is the umbrella organization of more than 230 specialized counseling centers in Germany that support victims of gender-specific violence. Our member organizations advise and support women, girls, and other victims of domestic and sexualized violence, stalking, digital violence, and other forms of patriarchal and structural violence. They provide low-threshold, partisan, and professional support and advocate for protection, stabilization, and self-determination. As a nationwide professional association, we represent the interests of the counseling centers to politics, administration, and the public. We contribute professional expertise to legislative processes, develop quality standards, network stakeholders, and make the structural causes of violence visible. The bff organizes seminars and conferences, disseminates expertise from practice and research, and develops informational and professional materials on the topic of violence against women. Our work is feminist, human rights-based, and intersectional. We advocate for a comprehensive, reliable support system and for a society in which gender-specific violence, regardless of origin, residence status, disability, or social situation, is consistently named, prevented, and ended.
