The Child, Youth and Family Services (Bufetat) provides services to a diverse range of children, young people, and families. We assist municipalities with child welfare institutions and foster homes, we have family counseling offices where anyone experiencing difficulties, conflicts, or crises in the family can turn to us, we investigate and process adoption applications, and we are responsible for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers under 15 years of age. Our mission is to provide the right help at the right time tailored to the individual. We are always looking for opportunities to improve good services, and the agency has an ambitious quality development strategy. Our organization is characterized by knowledgeable, engaged, and courageous employees, and we emphasize a high degree of openness and transparency in our daily work. The Child, Youth and Family Services (Bufetat) is organized into five regions and is responsible for state child and family welfare. Bufetat shall provide high-quality and appropriate measures for children, young people, and families in need throughout the country. We report to the Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Affairs (Bufdir), which is subordinate to the Ministry of Children and Family Affairs.
