About Boa Supermercados

The Boa family arrived in Brazil in 1898 to work in the fields. Through hard work, they managed to buy a farm in the Engordadouro neighborhood of Jundiaí. It was on this farm that they built a brickyard. One day, the founders of the well-known Hospital Santa Elisa in Jundiaí placed a large order for bricks for its construction. With this money, the Boa family's children got the idea to open a general store. In 1966, they opened the Santa Rosa store, named in honor of the family matriarch, Dona Rosa. This store was located in the Vila Hortolândia neighborhood. In 1973, with the transition from a general store to a self-service model, it was renamed Supermercados Boa.
