Agüimes, Canary Islands1 open job
In March 1989, BinterCanarias began its operations in the Canary Islands. At that time, the company's fleet consisted of four CN-235 aircraft. The first flights were made between Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Palma, and Fuerteventura, islands to which Lanzarote and El Hierro were later added. After the inauguration of La Gomera Airport (July 1999), BinterCanarias also opened a route to that island. In this first stage of the airline, the immediate objective was to guarantee a greater number of frequencies between the islands, while the company's management was already considering the implementation of procedures to streamline all operations. BinterCanarias was born as a regional airline, and in that sense, it is the only one currently operating at all eight airports in the Canary Islands. Since 2005, it began an internationalization process which currently translates into its connections with Marrakech, El Aaiún, and Madeira, to which four new destinations have recently been added: Casablanca, Agadir, Cape Verde, and Lisbon. And from January, it will also connect with Banjul.
