Benassi was born in Jundiaí-SP in the early 1950s as a simple fruit stand. Hard work yielded good results and the company also began operating in the Cantareira Market and, in 1966, joined the founders of the Companhia de Entrepostos e Armazéns Gerais de São Paulo, CEAGESP, in addition to expanding fruit and vegetable sales to Rio de Janeiro, Goiânia, Brasília, the interior of São Paulo and the north of Brazil. In the 1980s, the brand achieved such a level of recognition that its endorsement was accepted in business dealings of other merchants in the sector.
