Our Bank's history began in July 1964, as Financiera y Promotora de la Construcción S.A. Then in January 1982, its name was changed to FINANPRO Empresa Financiera. It was on November 21, 1986, that we became the commercial Bank we all know today: Banco Financiero. Our main shareholder is Banco Pichincha of Ecuador, which initiated the design of the Institutional Development Strategic Plan since 1997 with a presence in the Andean region in Peru; Panama, the United States, and Spain. In 2001, our Bank acquired NBK Bank, consolidating its growth and diversification of its business lines, as in previous years it had been focused on the business sector. From 2004 onwards, we developed consumer banking operations, microcredit, and expanded credit placement through payroll discounts and commercial stores via so-called agreements. Thus, during 2006, we launched the Máxima Banco Financiero credit card, with very attractive rates for our clients' purchases. In 2008, our Bank signed a Strategic Alliance with the appliance stores Carsa, which allowed us to double our number of offices to almost 100 and have Banco Financiero offices nationwide.
