About Bacalhau Riberalves

Riberalves is a 100% Portuguese company, of family origin, which preserves the values instilled by its founders. Ricardo and Bernardo Alves, the names that inspired the company's designation, along with their parents, João Alves and Manuela Alves, form the administrative structure of a group that has been developing year after year, now totaling about 500 employees. More than a company, Riberalves has become a large family that has been sharing with the Portuguese, the world's largest consumers of cod, an extraordinary passion for "Fiel Amigo". A National Passion. Riberalves produces 30 thousand tons of cod per year, equivalent to about 8% to 10% of all cod fished in the world. The company's production capacity received a strong boost from the year 2000 onwards, after the investment in the industrial unit in Moita, transformed into what is today the largest unit in the world operating exclusively in the cod sector. In this unit, Riberalves has implemented its own technology, developed to ensure the production of Ultracold Frozen Skinned Cod – Ready to Cook, a product category that, due to its quality and practical nature, has been allowing the reinvention of the consumption of "fiel amigo" and pointing to new markets. As a leader in a very mature and demanding Portuguese market, Riberalves prioritizes quality and innovation, developing new products that have allowed it to progressively enter new markets. The company's presence is not limited to national borders – Riberalves is in more than 20 countries, exporting 30% of its production.
