About AZC Leersum

We are responsible for the reception, guidance, and outflow (from reception) of asylum seekers in the Netherlands. The COA is an independent administrative body (zbo) and falls under the political responsibility of the State Secretary for Justice and Security. The COA is accountable to this ministry. Our vision: We are the professionals in the field of reception and guidance of asylum seekers and play a central role in the reception process in the Netherlands, responding flexibly to the nature and scale of asylum inflow and outflow. In close cooperation with the involved partners, we prepare asylum seekers for integration and (labor) participation in the Netherlands, or we contribute to return with a perspective. We offer high-quality guidance to asylum seekers, extending beyond the boundaries of reception. The asylum seeker's own responsibility is the starting point. They receive the guidance they need. We are proactive, prepared for new developments, and structured for flexibility regarding all facets of our work. We work on a good national and international network, focused on the Dutch perspective. Our mission: The COA is the organization in the alien chain that offers asylum seekers livable and safe reception and guides them towards a future in the Netherlands or beyond. The COA does this in cooperation with partners in society.
