Avinor is responsible for 43 state-owned airports and air traffic control services for civil and military aviation in Norway. This network connects Norway together and connects Norway with the world. Avinor is a driving force in environmental work in aviation and a promoter of reducing total greenhouse gas emissions from Norwegian aviation. The company plays a leading role in the development of electric aircraft and the supply of biofuel for aircraft. Each year, Avinor contributes to 50 million safe and efficient flights. Approximately half of these are to and from Oslo Airport. Around 3,000 employees are responsible for planning, developing, and operating a comprehensive airport and air traffic control system. Avinor's operations are financed through aviation charges and sales at the airports. Avinor Air Navigation Services is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Avinor Group. The company is responsible for tower services at airports, air traffic control services for traffic in Norwegian airspace, and technical infrastructure for air navigation.
