Athena was founded in 1973 as a small artisan workshop dedicated to the production of industrial gaskets; today it is a manufacturing and distribution company with 4 divisions and 11 plants worldwide. The first division is Athena Industries, which produces customized parts and components on customer request for the main industrial applications; it works with: • Gaskets and sealing systems, • Metal stampings, • Rubber molded parts, • Caps and valves (hydraulics and pneumatics), • Insulating materials, • Diaphragms, • Glass-metal, • Anti-vibration parts. All these products find application in various sectors, including: • Automotive, motorcycles, agricultural and earth-moving machinery • Industrial supply (pumps, compressors, hydraulics, electromechanics, pressure reducers) • Heating, refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation • Professional appliances (coffee machines) The processing and processes are: • Plasma laser cutting • Waterjet and cutter • Automatic die-cutting machines • Stamping • Heat treatment of metals • Tumbling and polishing • Rubber molding by compression and injection • Rubber-metal assembly • Vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers • Turning centers • Industrial assembly automation The second division, Athena Parts&Electronics, was founded in '89; thanks to its knowledge of industrial gaskets, Athena entered the motorcycle aftermarket, with gaskets and gasket kits. Today the division develops innovative electronic and mechanical solutions for the engine world, and distributes a range of selected technical spare parts for the motorcycle, car, marine, and industrial transport sectors. The third division, Athena Sportech&Lifestyle, founded in 2009, and therefore the most recent, distributes brands with a strong focus on innovation and appeal, aimed at improving people's lifestyles and satisfying new consumer passions in sport, technology, and leisure (Ogio, Skullcandy, Fitbit, VR|46, Gopro,). The last division, Athena Get, acquired in 2007, is responsible for the production of engine management control units and data acquisition systems. Athena is present in Alonte, with the HQ, Blue Tech, and Get plants, as well as in Erchie (Brindisi). It is also present abroad: in Spain with Athena Motor Iberica, in Brazil with Vedamotors, Athena USA in North America, Athena India, Athena Hangzhou in China, in 2018 SCE Gaskets was acquired in Tennessee.
