Athelas Institute, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was created in 1976 to inspire and enrich the lives of adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Our mission: Providing opportunities for growth and personal accomplishment to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities complemented by quality services and meaningful community engagement. Our vision: To participate in a world where all people are empowered to live a life of opportunity, individual satisfaction and success. Athelas has remained a recognized leader in its field for providing creative programs that meet the needs of individuals who use its services. Athelas Institute Services Day Opportunities Services include customized/supported employment; community integrated activities, opportunities & outreach; enhanced vocational; meaningful days. Residential Opportunities Services for individuals, small groups, and group home participants with supervision and support based on the needs of the individuals. Family & Individual Support Services Services are designed to meet the needs of the individuals & their families at home, as well as, enhance community participation. Personal Supports Services are focused on teaching and enhancing daily living skills, in the home and community, and are provided directly to the individual. Community Learning Services Services are designed to meet the unique needs of our individuals with a focus on community based integration & activity.
