About APG Austrian Power Grid AG

The Austrian Power Grid AG (APG) is Austria's independent electricity transmission system operator and is responsible for the domestic high-voltage transmission grid. A powerful transmission grid makes it possible to integrate renewable energy into the European and domestic power supply and thus realize the energy transition. In close cooperation with the grid operators of neighboring European countries, APG lays the foundation for the development of a liberalized EU-wide electricity market and is partly responsible for securing electricity for the Austrian economy and society at market-based prices. APG is also responsible for the green electricity forecast throughout Austria, thus fulfilling another essential task in integrating renewable energies into the domestic power supply.
