The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) is a decentralized entity with its own assets created with the objective of developing and coordinating plans, policies, and regulations for the development of contracts under the modality of Partnerships for the Development of Economic Infrastructure, known as Public-Private Partnerships -PPPs- for public institutions in Guatemala. ANI was created within the framework of the Law on Partnerships for the Development of Economic Infrastructure (Decree 16-2010) and its Regulations (Government Agreement 360-2011) which promote investment projects in roads, electricity generation and distribution, ports, airports, and other works necessary for the country's development with absolute transparency. Within its scope, the Agency develops the planning, studies, structuring, bidding, contracting, administration, and supervision of contracts under the modality of Partnerships for the Development of Economic Infrastructure in coordination with the State Contracting Institution (ICE). The ANI, together with other government entities, currently known as State Contracting Institutions (ICEs) according to current regulations, has a portfolio of seven projects that represent an estimated investment of US$1,495 million over the next five years.
