About American Air Filter International

AAF-McQUAY is involved in commercial air-conditioning and air-filtration products and systems. Its products are utilized in office buildings, schools, and manufacturing plants. The AAF International division manufactures air-filtration products under the AAF and AmericanAirFilter brands, including replacement filters, air pollution-control systems, machinery filtration products, and acoustical systems. The McQuay International arm produces commercial air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment such as chillers, air handling systems, and industrial refrigeration. The company has plants worldwide and its products are sold in 80 countries. The global economic recession impacted demand for construction products, affecting AAF-McQUAY and its parent company, Daikin Industries. To foster future growth, the company implemented strategic initiatives. Daikin aims to be the leading global company in air conditioning, heating, and ventilation, with AAF-McQUAY contributing to its goal of doubling sales by 2015. To achieve this, investments have been made in facility improvements, innovation, and sales. In 2009, the Daikin McQuay Applied Development Center, a $50 million global research and development facility, was opened in Minnesota. This center focuses on developing eco-friendly, energy-saving, and noise-reduction equipment. In 2010, the company launched the Daikin McQuay Solutions Plaza in New York, a showroom displaying advanced and large-scale air conditioning units. This showroom serves designers and major construction company representatives, offering consulting and planning services. Daikin acquired Nippon Muki, a manufacturer of air filters in Japan, in 2009 for ¥5 billion ($55 million). This acquisition, combined with AAF-McQUAY's facilities, is intended to establish Daikin as a leading global air filter manufacturer.
