About Althaia, Xarxa Assistencial Universitària de Manresa

We are a private, non-profit foundation providing comprehensive services in the healthcare and social sectors. Our mission is to offer these services with quality and efficiency, within an organization focused on meeting people's needs and fostering both technical and human excellence among our professionals. At Fundació Althaia, we are governed by a Board of Trustees comprising three institutions: the Manresa City Council, the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God, and Mútua Manresana. We currently have 405 acute hospitalization beds, 56 private beds, and 56 places for dependency care. Annually, we attend to over 26,000 hospital admissions, perform 20,000 surgical procedures, and handle over 2,000 births. We conduct approximately 360,000 outpatient consultations and manage around 130,000 emergencies, of which about 3,000 are mental health-related. We also handle about 108,000 general medicine visits across the two basic areas we manage, 24,000 pediatric visits, and around 66,000 visits for other specialties. In the mental health sector, we receive over 30,000 visits and conduct more than 10,000 day center sessions. Within dependency care, we record over 18,000 convalescence and long-term stays. Althaia is composed of a team of approximately 1,800 professionals offering primary care, specialized care, dependency care, mental health services, and sports medicine. Furthermore, we are a university institution training students in medicine and nursing degrees, as well as various specialist professionals. We serve as a reference university healthcare network for 260,000 inhabitants, primarily from Bages, Moianès, and Solsonès, as well as Cerdanya and Berguedà.
