Established in 2006, the Algoma Workforce Investment Corporation (AWIC) is a nonprofit Workforce Planning Board serving the District of Algoma. Through local research, labour market analysis and community collaboration, AWIC identifies workforce trends, explores emerging challenges and supports evidence-based planning. AWIC brings together volunteers and community partners with knowledge and experience in labour force development. By fostering cooperation among employers, job seekers, educators, service providers and decision-makers, AWIC works toward practical, locally informed solutions that strengthen the regional workforce.
