About AGROPEU

Agropéu's history begins in 1981, when an alcohol distillery was founded in Pompéu/MG by a group of Pompeian agribusiness entrepreneurs, led by Paulo Otacílio Cordeiro and Antônio Joaquim Cordeiro. The current controllers and main directors represent the second generation of the entrepreneurs who founded the company. The project that gave rise to Agropéu S/A was framed within the foundations of the second phase of PRÓALCOOL, which contemplated the construction of autonomous distilleries to meet the demand of new vehicles powered exclusively by alcohol and to reinforce the supply of anhydrous alcohol, prioritized by the first phase of the national alcohol program. According to the original project, a distillery with a production capacity of 120,000 liters of alcohol per day was built, with sugarcane crops owned by independent producers, constituting a contractual integration system, with strong governmental regulation, through the IAA.
