About ADEME

The ADEME, in brief. The Agency for Ecological Transition participates in the implementation of public policies in the fields of the environment, energy, and sustainable development. It makes its expertise and consulting capabilities available to businesses, local authorities, public authorities, and the general public, to enable them to advance in their environmental approach. The Agency also assists in financing projects, from research to implementation, in the following areas: waste management, soil conservation, energy efficiency and renewable energies, raw material savings, air quality, noise reduction, the transition to a circular economy, and the fight against food waste. ADEME is a public institution under the joint supervision of the Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
