About Adapei de la Loire

The Adapei de la Loire is a non-profit association of parents and friends of people with disabilities. Created in October 1957 by parents, it was recognized as being of public utility by decree on June 18, 1964. It advocates for appropriate support for people with intellectual disabilities, autism, multiple disabilities, or psychological disabilities. Today, the association supports 2,000 users and has 1,000 members. The association works daily for mentally disabled individuals, regardless of their age, condition, or integration capacity, to guide them so they can more easily find their place in an environment that is often ill-suited to them. Adapei de la Loire evolves alongside parents, offering attentive listening and combating all forms of exclusion. It is with them that it finds appropriate solutions, without replacing the role of parents, but by remaining alongside them to advise and provide effective help. Adapei de la Loire is now a departmental association, established throughout the Loire region. It employs over 2,500 professionals, including 1,000 workers with disabilities. It currently manages about fifty specialized establishments for the care and support of people with disabilities of all ages, from early childhood to adulthood: - Residential Homes (Foyer), - Specialized Accommodation Centers (M.A.S), - Medico-Educational Institutes (I.M.E), - Medically Assisted Living Facilities (F.A.M), - Day Care Services (S.A.J), - Establishments and Services for Aid through Work (E.S.A.T), - Adapted Companies (E.A), - Social Life Support Services (S.A.V.S), - A Home-Based Specialized Education and Care Service (S.E.S.S.A.D).
