About acidH

acidH consists of two non-profit entities (the Association and the Tutelary Foundation) with a single objective: to improve the quality of life of people with borderline intelligence through comprehensive care. The acidH Association (Catalan Association for Human Integration and Development) was born in March 1994, the result of the joint effort of parents, professionals, and volunteers, to make the group of people with borderline intelligence known, promote and defend their rights, raise societal awareness towards this group, and foster the creation of specific resources with the aim of achieving their social and labor integration. The acidH Private Tutelary Foundation was born in March 1998 in response to the demands of parents concerned about the future of their children when they are no longer there and to address situations of helplessness and family breakdown. Its main objective is to cover the needs of support, protection, and guarantee of rights and to promote the autonomy of people with borderline intelligence and mild intellectual disability in accordance with the legally foreseen legal protection figures.
