Alternate Concepts, Inc. (ACI) and Herzog Transit Services, Inc. (HTSI), operating as the ACI/Herzog Joint Venture, deliver safe, reliable, and compliant rail operations across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. With decades of experience—ACI founded in 1989 in Boston, MA, and Herzog in 1969 with offices in St. Joseph, MO and Fort Worth, TX—our partnership brings deep expertise in FRA/FTA-compliant transportation services. Together, we provide full-spectrum operations and maintenance, including equipment servicing, dispatching, right-of-way and facility upkeep, across 20 client properties. Our team is proud to be the upcoming operator and maintainer of the Hudson Bergen Light Rail in Hudson County, New Jersey. In addition to this new venture, we jointly operate the Tren Urbano heavy rail system in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the CTDOT Hartford Line intercity service in Connecticut.
