The employees of the municipalities of Alphen-Chaam, Baarle-Nassau, and Gilze en Rijen have been working together in one administrative organization since January 1, 2016: the ABG organization. The three municipalities remain independent. Each has its own municipal council, supported by its own clerk, its own college of mayor and aldermen, and its own mayor. The ABG organization provides all products and services for the municipalities of Alphen-Chaam, Baarle-Nassau, and Gilze en Rijen. Each municipal executive ensures that the products and services are tailored to the local needs of residents, businesses, and interest groups. The ABG organization is a joint arrangement. The ABG organization is headed by a board, with a management team below it. Board The mayors and one of the aldermen from the three municipalities form the board of the ABG organization. The chairmanship of the board of the ABG organization rotates annually among the three mayors. Management Team The municipal secretaries have been appointed as members of the management team of the ABG organization. The general director is the municipal secretary of the municipality of Gilze en Rijen. Organization The organization has a total of nine departments, namely Spatial Development, Public Space, Safety & Permits, Social Policy, Social Execution, Information, Innovation & ICT, Services, Finance & Control, and Internal Advice & Support.
