The Yangtze River Survey, Planning, Design and Research Institute (Yangtze Institute for Conservation and Planning), affiliated with the Changjiang Water Resources Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources, is a technology-based enterprise engaged in engineering survey, planning, design, scientific research, consulting, construction supervision and management, and general contracting. Its comprehensive strength has always been among the top 100 national survey and design units. It holds high-level qualification certificates such as national comprehensive Class-A qualification for engineering design, comprehensive Class-A for engineering survey, and qualification for overseas contracting projects. It is a national high-tech enterprise. The Yangtze Institute boasts 3 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 5 national masters of engineering survey and design, 2 individuals from the national "New Century Talents Project," 1 national outstanding professional technical talent, 66 individuals from the Ministry of Water Resources' "5151 Talent Project," 5 distinguished young and middle-aged experts, 6 experts enjoying State Council government special allowances, 273 professors-level senior engineers, 1015 senior engineers, 728 engineers, and over a thousand registered engineers of various types. There are more than 2000 professional technical personnel in total. It has 10 functional departments and 11 subsidiary companies. Its affiliated units are distributed in provinces and municipalities directly under the central government such as Hubei, Chongqing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Tibet, Beijing, Fujian, Hainan, Yunnan, and Sichuan, as well as in countries like Ecuador, Peru, and Pakistan. The headquarters is located in Wuhan. The Yangtze Institute adheres to the quality policy of "achieving excellent products through scientific management and continuous improvement; surpassing customer expectations with advanced technology and sincere service," and possesses a comprehensive quality management system. For over sixty years, the Yangtze Institute has completed a large number of comprehensive river and lake plans and specialized plans, represented by the comprehensive plan for the Yangtze River basin. It has undertaken hundreds of engineering surveys and designs, represented by the Three Gorges Project and the Central Route Project of the South-to-North Water Diversion. Its footprint spans over 40 countries and regions domestically and globally. Meanwhile, it has achieved remarkable results in fields such as engineering general contracting, engineering construction supervision, water conservancy informatization, as well as the governance of hazardous projects, power transmission and transformation projects, new energy projects, transportation and municipal engineering, architectural engineering, environmental engineering, and ecological engineering survey and design. In recent years, the Yangtze Institute has successively won 2 National Science and Technology Progress Special Awards, 8 First and Second Prizes for National Science and Technology Progress, 1 Second Prize for National Technology Invention, and 7 Gold Awards for National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design. It has received over 400 science and technology awards at provincial and ministerial level or above. It holds a total of 300 national authorized patents and software copyrights, including 56 invention patents. In this team of outstanding talents, 5 national model workers have emerged, along with 10 recipients of the national May 1st Labor Medal. More than 30 individuals have received labor model, advanced worker, or May 1st Labor Medal awards at provincial and ministerial levels. In 2003, the Yangtze Institute was awarded the National May 1st Labor Certificate of Honor for its outstanding achievements.
