Founded in May 2010, BGI Genomics (formerly BGI Tech) focuses on applying next-generation DNA sequencing technology to the field of clinical genetic testing and providing next-generation sequencing technology services for researchers in life sciences, clinical disease research, and other biological and medical fields. Headquartered in Beijing, the company has established cooperative relationships with over 300 hospitals in more than 20 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across China. BGI Genomics boasts high-standard R&D, marketing, sales, and customer service systems, with over 500 employees and a clinical testing center network comprising Beijing, Qingdao, and Shanghai. Our BeibaoanTM non-invasive DNA prenatal testing (referred to as BeibaoanTM) can accurately detect three of the most common chromosomal diseases: Down syndrome (T21), Edwards syndrome (T18), and Patau syndrome (T13). We have conducted two large-scale clinical trials for this technology with the Prenatal Diagnosis Center of Xiangya Hospital Central South University and Peking Union Medical College Hospital. The results show that the technology achieves over 99% accuracy in detecting these three chromosomal diseases. This represents the first truly innovative breakthrough in genomics in over 20 years that can enter the clinical application field, and it is the first example of the Human Genome Project in practical application. In October 2011, BGI Genomics successfully completed a large-scale financing round from Legend Capital (formerly Legend Holdings), which will significantly drive the R&D and industrialization of the company's new generation of major genetic disease detection and diagnostic technologies. In October 2012, BGI Genomics stood out from nearly 5,000 companies, ranking 18th, and was honored among the "China's Top 50 Most Investable Enterprises" by Zero2IPO Group along with 49 other high-quality companies. In December 2012, BGI Genomics was recognized as one of the "Top 100 Innovative Growth Enterprises" by Cyzone. In December 2012, BGI Genomics successfully passed the "High-Tech Enterprise" certification. In February 2013, BGI Genomics received the Technology Innovation Award at the "Top 50 Chinese Business Innovators 2013" hosted by CBN Weekly. In May 2013, BGI Genomics celebrated its third anniversary. In July 2013, the results of the second phase of clinical trials were published in the journal "Prenatal Diagnosis." In October 2013, an exploratory article on two false negative cases of BeibaoanTM was accepted by the journal "Prenatal Diagnosis." In October 2013, an article exploring the impact of maternal chromosomal mosaicism on BeibaoanTM's sex chromosome aneuploidy detection using ConvaTM was accepted by the journal "Clinical Chemistry."
